Note: The Big Medium content manager is accessible to all versions of every browser. However, your browser may not support basic Web standards, preventing the best display of the Big Medium tools. We support the campaign of the Web Standards Project encouraging users to upgrade to modern browsers.

The display preferences allow you to specify locations where you do not want links to the article to appear. Suppressing links in certain locations allows you to downplay and article that may not be appropriate for promotion in certain sections of your site. Suppressing links in all of these areas will prevent the article from being promoted in any area of your website.
You can tell Big Medium not to build links...
On homepage. This option prevents links from appearing in either the homepage spotlight or in the main body of long- and short-format homepage links. Note that it's possible that some links may still appear on the homepage as top news (if your homepage includes the ++HOMEPAGENEWS++ widget) or as a quick teaser (if your homepage includes ++QUICKTEASE:slug++ widgets) unless you suppress those types of links as well.
In homepage spotlight. This option prevents links from appearing in the homepage spotlight position while allowing them to appear elsewhere in the main body of long- and short-format homepage links.
In top news listing. This option prevents links from appearing in the top news section on any page whose template uses the ++TOPNEWS++ or ++HOMEPAGENEWS++ widget. (Only pages assigned to the section designated as the top news section are candidates for listing in the top news section.
In quick teasers. This option prevents links from appearing in the quick teaser for the article's section(s). Quick teasers are listings of the latest articles for any section and are generated on any pages whose template uses the ++QUICKTEASE:slug++ widget.
In main section pages. This option prevents links from appearing in either the spotlight area or the main body of long- and short-format links on any main section page. Note that it's possible that some links may still appear on a main section page via top news (if the page template includes the ++TOPNEWS++ or ++HOMEPAGENEWS++ widget) or a quick teaser (if the template includes ++QUICKTEASE:slug++ widgets) unless you suppress those types of links as well.
In main section spotlight. This option prevents links from appearing in the spotlight position on main section pages while allowing them to appear elsewhere in the long- and short-format links for the main section page.
In subsection pages. This option prevents links from appearing in the pages listing all the articles in a subsection of the site. Note that it's possible that some links may still appear on a subsection section page via top news (if the page template includes the ++TOPNEWS++ or ++HOMEPAGENEWS++ widget) or a quick teaser (if the template includes ++QUICKTEASE:slug++ widgets) unless you suppress those types of links as well.
