Job Summary
Ensure maintenance of Agency facilities and property under the direction of the Facilities Manager.
Responsibilities and Duties- Makes recommendations to Facilities Manager regarding maintenance assignments, equipment use, energy efficiency, maintenance practices, etc., to ensure a cost-efficient maintenance program.
- Provides on-site guidance and assistance to other maintenance personnel.
- Works with Facilities Manager on fire drills and routine inspections.
- Responsible for maintaining records on equipment, vehicles, lawn mower service schedule and other Agency equipment and supplies.
- Notifies Facilities Manager of needed equipment, materials, or supplies with adequate advance notice for securing.
- Responds to requests for repairs/maintenance according to existing procedures, including consultation with Facilities Manager regarding major or costly repairs.
- Assures maintenance areas, equipment, and supplies are neat, clean, and orderly.
- Maintains proper physical condition of Agency sites, including minor repair work, which includes, but is not limited to, electrical, plumbing, and related areas within city and village codes, and in accordance with site leases.
- Attends to needed repairs and maintenance of Agency property including, but not limited to, desks, chairs, dishwashers, washers/dryers, hot water heaters, etc. Consults with Facilities Manager regarding costly repairs or replacement.
- Constructs adaptive equipment in consultation with Facilities Manager and/or Program Director.
- Provides for grounds maintenance including snow/ice removal and lawn care at Agency sites.
- Assists with moving office, household furnishings and program equipment.
- Completes all annual training requirements.
- May be required to assist during emergency situations.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications
Verifiable documentation of education. High school diploma or equivalency. One (1) or more years of maintenance experience or trade school certification or comparable demonstrated skill experience. Ability to read, as measured by the Short Test of Functional Health Literacy in Adults (S-TOFHLA) test. Must have a valid driver’s license and insurable driving record. Experience with persons with developmental and intellectual disabilities and other physical and mental challenges preferred. Must be able to complete all physical requirements of the position with or without a reasonable accommodation. Advanced knowledge of electrical, plumbing, automotive repair, HVAC systems and HVAC certification preferred; knowledge of fork lift operation a plus. Also includes lawn care and snow removal, ability to work in inclement weather, evening and weekend hours. Fingerprint Criminal Background Check and Essential Functions Test/Pre-Employment Physical and Drug Screen are required.

Rate of Pay
$20.50 per hour for non-DSP trained staff
$21.10 per hour for DSP trained staff
